Acadia Beach (and Wreck Beach?) is finally open again to dogs. No dogs between March 1 and Sept 30. It's one of my favorite walks to take Cedric. Took a few shots this weekend, only posting one.

View from the plane

Some non edible mushroom, I should have made my brother eat it.

Spermophilus richardsonii, AKA Richardson Ground Squirrel, AKA Gopher. Taken in Elk Island National Park (http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/ab/elkisland/index_e.asp). My brother and I went there to photograph moose and bison, but this is the only thing we saw. Cost me $12 to get in the park.

Some old barn between St. Paul & Edmonton. Won't last much longer.

Abbotsford Air Show - Aug 14

Today I went to check out the Abbotsford Air Show. Overall a lot of fun, but I could do without the insane heat. I sat inside the jet wash of the KC-130 to cool off. I brought my D50 and snapped a few photos. I need more lens for stuff like this. A lot of the planes were of some distance away, even at full zoom (55mm) I had to crop out small parts of the frame so clarity is not great. The Thunderbirds show was probably the highlight of the day, they were amazing. The Snowbirds were entertaining, but the planes the fly can't touch the F-16s that the USA has available.

A-10 Thunderbolt. AKA "Warthog". I was surprised at how fast and agile this plane is.

CF-18 Hornet - this is what our guys use.
